Flooring in any room that gets a lot of foot traffic will get dirty quicker and wear away with use. Tile can handle the traffic. Porcelain and ceramic are both great choices for flooring especially in the kitchen and bathroom and are often mistaken for the same material. While both are made from clay, porcelain tile is higher density and is fired at a higher temperature and while both are similar in durability, porcelain tiles absorb less water and is therefore more waterproof. Ceramic tile however comes in more colors and sizes than porcelain. Don't forget to consider your safety as well! Get a floor tile that won’t be too slick, even when wet.
